Outdoor Pool Area Lighting Installation in Omaha, NE

Built for Property Owners Who Refuse to Compromise

Your pool deserves more than fixtures scattered around the edges. We design lighting for the deck, steps, and landscaping around your pool, built around your architecture, sightlines, and how the space will actually be used, so it looks intentional, performs reliably, and stays beautiful for years.

What's Included in Your Pool Area Lighting Design

Every pool area lighting plan starts with your property, its architecture, its landscaping, and how the space actually gets used after dark. From there we build a system intended to look intentional, perform reliably, and remain beautiful for years, not a set of parts installed on a schedule. Here is what that process includes.

We walk your property in person to see the architecture, landscaping, and sightlines firsthand. No lighting plan gets built from a photo or a phone call.

Every plan is drawn specifically for your property. We map fixture placement, intensity, and beam spread against your deck, steps, and plantings before a single fixture goes in the ground.

We choose fixtures for how they perform in your specific space, not off a standard package. Color temperature and beam spread are matched to each area so the result looks designed, not scattered.

We tie the lighting plan into the surrounding landscape so the whole space reads as one cohesive design after dark.

All wiring and transformers are installed by a licensed, insured team, sized correctly for your system and run to hold up through every Midwest season.

Adjust brightness, zones, and schedules from your phone. Your lighting plan should be as easy to live with as it is to look at.

We walk the finished space with you after dark, explain the controls, and confirm every detail matches the plan before we call the job done.

Fixtures, wiring, and transformers are maintained over time so the system keeps looking and performing the way it did on day one.

Every Property Is Different

No two pool areas deserve the same lighting plan. A resort-style backyard with mature landscaping and several gathering zones calls for a different approach than a modern pool with clean architectural lines and one defined sightline. A commercial or hospitality property carries different safety, code, and maintenance demands than a private residence. What works for one project can be the wrong choice for the next, even when two pools look similar on paper.

We design every plan around the specific property, its architecture, its landscaping, how it will be used, and who will be using it after dark. We do not build to a one-size-fits-all template, because no two properties are the same job.

We have been using Midwest Lightscaping for a few years now. Every time we have contacted Josh about something new, he's been right on top of helping. He's very knowledgeable and helped bring a lot of ideas and suggestions to the table. He's taken the time to listen to what we want and then helped make it a realty, only better with his input! His team has always been courteous and friendly as well. Any time they are out to install they are aware of things in our yard and take care to not ruin any landscaping or cause any damage. They take extra care with their work and ensure everything is done right. In addition to all of this.. .the finished product always looks amazing!! From holiday lighting, to landscaping lighting, to just plain house lighting... we've never been disappointed. Highly highly recommend!

The landscape lighting installed by Midwest Lightscaping is not only beautiful, but also provides an element of safety. After a car break-in occurred in my driveway overnight, the security cameras were able to pickup clear imagery of the crook due to the landscape lighting recently installed. Following the incident, I was interested in adding more lighting near the front door of my house. Before installation, Josh offered to do a trial run late one evening to ensure the bulb would not let off too much of a glare. After the trial run, I decided against installing the additional lighting. Rather than be irritated or try to hard sell the new lighting, Josh was merely happy to have done the trial run and decide against it before installation. Overall, I am very pleased with both the work and professional demeanor of Josh and his team at Midwest Lightscaping. For anyone interested in potentially adding landscape lighting, I recommend reaching out to Josh and his team.

Midwest Lightscaping: #1 Company for Pool Area Lighting

Design led by the property, not the package

We specify what your pool area actually needs, even when that means fewer fixtures than expected. We are not selling the largest package we can move.

Careful with what's already there

Our crews work around existing decks, coping, and landscaping so nothing is cracked, disturbed, or damaged, including wiring run near the water.

Responsive before and after

From first inquiry to a bulb replacement years later, we respond and follow through, even after the pool is closed for the season.

40 years combined experience

Our team brings 40 years of combined lighting and landscaping experience to every project, so each design is backed by expertise, not guesswork.

Trusted in Omaha since 2011

Serving the Omaha area since 2011, with a 5.0 Google rating and consistent Best of Omaha recognition.

Improves safety, not just looks

Property owners and managers rely on our lighting to make the water's edge, steps, and deck clearly visible after dark, reducing nighttime slips, not just adding ambiance.

How Much Does Pool Lighting Cost?

Every pool lighting project is different, so we don’t publish a one-size-fits-all price, but here’s what typically affects your total investment:

  • Size of your pool and number of lighting zones
  • Number and type of fixtures (underwater, deck, accent, etc.)
  • Whether you’re adding smart controls
  • Distance of wiring runs from your power source
  • Whether lighting is installed during new pool construction or added afterward

FAQs on outdoor pool lighting service

our permanent roofline lighting services here.

Yes, if you choose that option. We can set up app-based or voice-assistant control as part of your installation.

Most pool-only lighting installations are completed in a single day. Projects that include deck, step, and landscape lighting typically take 2 to 3 days, depending on the size of the property and design.

Our crews work carefully around existing trees, plantings, and hardscaping so nothing gets damaged while we run wiring and set fixtures.

A standard installation places fixtures where a pool typically needs them. A designed plan starts from the property itself, its architecture, sightlines, materials, and use, and works backward to fixture placement, intensity, and beam spread. The difference shows up in how the space feels, not just how bright it is.

Yes, and it is often better that way. Coordinating lighting early means wiring, transformer placement, and fixture locations can be planned into the build instead of retrofitted around finished work.

The wrong color temperature or beam spread can undercut a well-placed fixture just as easily as poor placement can. All three are decided together, since each one only works in relation to the other two.
