Types of Pool Lighting We Install
Underwater LED Pool Lighting: Color-changing or classic white LED pool lighting installed in the pool wall or floor, giving your water a soft glow that’s visible from every angle of the yard.
Deck & Coping Lights: Recessed, flush-mount fixtures set into the deck or coping edge. They light the perimeter of the pool without glare, so swimmers and guests can see the edge clearly after dark.
Step & Path Lighting: Low, subtle fixtures along stairs and walkways leading to and from the pool.
Accent & Landscape Uplighting: We extend your pool landscape lighting design beyond the water, uplighting trees, retaining walls, and water features.
String & Specialty Ambiance Lighting: We offer string lighting and specialty fixtures that add warmth and personality for pool parties and gatherings.
Smart, App-Controlled Systems: Set schedules, change colors, or dim your lighting from your phone or a voice assistant, no manual switches required.

We have been using Midwest Lightscaping for a few years now. Every time we have contacted Josh about something new, he's been right on top of helping. He's very knowledgeable and helped bring a lot of ideas and suggestions to the table. He's taken the time to listen to what we want and then helped make it a realty, only better with his input! His team has always been courteous and friendly as well. Any time they are out to install they are aware of things in our yard and take care to not ruin any landscaping or cause any damage. They take extra care with their work and ensure everything is done right. In addition to all of this.. .the finished product always looks amazing!! From holiday lighting, to landscaping lighting, to just plain house lighting... we've never been disappointed. Highly highly recommend!![]()

The landscape lighting installed by Midwest Lightscaping is not only beautiful, but also provides an element of safety. After a car break-in occurred in my driveway overnight, the security cameras were able to pickup clear imagery of the crook due to the landscape lighting recently installed. Following the incident, I was interested in adding more lighting near the front door of my house. Before installation, Josh offered to do a trial run late one evening to ensure the bulb would not let off too much of a glare. After the trial run, I decided against installing the additional lighting. Rather than be irritated or try to hard sell the new lighting, Josh was merely happy to have done the trial run and decide against it before installation. Overall, I am very pleased with both the work and professional demeanor of Josh and his team at Midwest Lightscaping. For anyone interested in potentially adding landscape lighting, I recommend reaching out to Josh and his team.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 14 reviews
Why Omaha Homeowners Trust Midwest Lightscaping for Pool Lighting
Designed around your pool
We tell you what your pool and backyard actually need, even when that means fewer fixtures than you expected, not the biggest package we can sell you.
Careful with what's already there
Our crews work around your existing deck, coping, and landscaping so nothing gets cracked, disturbed, or damaged running wiring near the water.
Responsive before and after
From your first inquiry to a bulb replacement years later, we respond quickly and follow through, even after the pool's closed for the season.
Owner-operated, start to finish
Josh Reeves personally walks every pool before a design is finalized, and stays involved through installation, not just the sales call.
Trusted in Omaha since 2011
A 5.0 rating on Google and over a decade lighting pools and backyards across Omaha and the surrounding area.
Improves safety, not just looks
Property owners use our pool lighting to see the water's edge, steps, and deck clearly after dark, cutting down on nighttime slips and falls, not just adding ambiance.
How Pool Lighting Installation Works With Us
We come out to your property for a free visit, usually in the evening, to walk your pool area, hear what you're picturing, and map out where the lighting should go. There's nothing you need to prepare ahead of time.
You'll get a custom lighting plan with fixture placement and a few options at different budget levels, so you decide what fits.
Our own crew, not a subcontractor, runs the wiring, sets the transformer, and installs every fixture while keeping disruption to your pool, deck, and landscaping to a minimum. We handle any required permitting as part of the process.
Once everything's installed, we turn it on with you there, test every zone, and make adjustments on the spot.
Your system is backed by our warranty, with optional seasonal maintenance to help it keep working the way it did on day one.
How Much Does Pool Lighting Cost?
Every pool lighting project is different, so we don’t publish a one-size-fits-all price, but here’s what typically affects your total investment:
- Size of your pool and number of lighting zones
- Number and type of fixtures (underwater, deck, accent, etc.)
- Whether you’re adding smart controls
- Distance of wiring runs from your power source
- Whether lighting is installed during new pool construction or added afterward

Yes. Our fixtures are low-voltage and wet-location rated, and installed to meet local electrical code requirements.
Yes, if you choose that option. We can set up app-based or voice-assistant control as part of your installation.
Most pool-only lighting installations are completed in a single day. Projects that include deck, step, and landscape lighting typically take 2 to 3 days, depending on the size of the property and design.
Our crews work carefully around existing trees, plantings, and hardscaping so nothing gets damaged while we run wiring and set fixtures.
We’re responsive before and after the sale. If something needs attention, whether it’s a bulb replacement years down the road, we follow through and get it resolved.
Both. Lighting is easiest to add during new construction or a renovation, but we regularly retrofit lighting onto existing pools with minimal disruption.
We check compatibility with your existing equipment as part of the design process, before any work begins, so there are no surprises.
Our systems are installed to withstand freeze-thaw cycles and don’t need to be removed each year. Optional seasonal startup and shutdown service is available if you want extra peace of mind.
